Well, Mother Nature just ruined our weekend camp. Tornado touched down close to camp yesterday and took out power. It's not expected to be repaired until Monday night at the earliest.
On a good point, the weather forecast for Saturday is a 90% chance of severe thunderstorms. Since we planned to bring two grandkids, being cramped up in the pup all day with them could be more exhausting than dealing with the weather. LOL
Not sure when we'll get out again since everything is so booked, and an upcoming trip scheduled.
Glad you weren't camping.
My Mom tells the story of when I was a baby we were moving to South Carolina from Illinois, We stopped at a campground for the night to get some sleep, in the morning we woke up to destruction. A tornado went through the campground and tore everything up that night and we slept through it, apparently unscathed. Apparently there were other near death experiences on that same trip.
We also went through a 7.2 earthquake when we lived in our RV in 2010
Survived a direct hit by a water spout that came ashore while at Cape Hatteras back when I had a Pup-up, tore my camper up pretty bad, ripped the entire back wall canvas off, bent stabilizers etc. Lucky that no one was hurt.
Yes at least we weren't camping, thank goodness. That storm came in hard and fast. I happened to be across town at a meeting and had to wait to leave. Trees and branches down everywhere. We lost power for 5-6 hours.
One time at camp a storm blew in like that. No time to pull the awning down so we had to stand in the rain hanging on to it. Lifted the wife off the ground once! Surprised it didn't tear off the pup.
