A Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates.
The weather here sure changed for COLD! I haven't been this cold since we lived up in the Great White North. It was -7° F this morning and don't think it's gone up past zero all day. Plus, the wind is whipping around 25-30 MPH with gusts hitting 50. It's been snowing sideways almost all day.
Crazy is by next week the forecast says 61° for New Year's Day.
Well, I suppose that leaves me nothing to complain about?!?! Here in Orlando it's currently 45º and falling, supposed to bottom out at around 29º by morning. I get a kick out of local TV people talking about shelters, leaving faucets drip etc. It's only suppose to drop below freezing for about 2 hours about 5 am, and will warm again as soon as the sunrises at 7:15am.
In my camper I'm running 2 electric heaters (electric fireplace & electric baseboard), keeping the inside comfy at 67-68º. I have a 3rd electric heater in the bedroom rigged up so I can turn it on/off while still laying in bed, if needed, I will turn that on when my alarm clock gets me up at 6am and run it long enough to shower & dress for the day!
I gotta work Christmas Eve day (morning only) and again Christmas day (again, only morning), but they will pay me double time for that, so I'll still get a full days pay!
Merry Christmas to everyone that's out there reading this!!!
Double time! Merry Christmas!
We had freezing rain and a thick coating of ice on everything all day yesterday (starting the previous evening). It's above freezing today and will be in the 40s and raining all week.
It's 45° this afternoon, feels like a heat wave. Snow is melting.
Now the forecast is for rain all week and only in the 50's. I'll take that for January.
