It's tough to think about camping when the weather is cool/cold/snowing and it's still 4 months away.
I just looked at spots for Mother's Day weekend in May and even this early our fav spot has already been taken. This camping season is going to be last minute planned because the wife has decided she is going to have her knee replaced this summer. Have to see how things go.
For me it's more like looking for a campground job somewhere up north starting in April or May. I've just starting looking & planning some reservations for the trip north starting mid March. Still not sure how far north I'm going or where I'll wind up. Had a phone interview with a Thousand Trails park in Virginia yesterday, and another with a campground in Maine this morning.
Funny, you look at camping as a way of life and I look at camping for relaxing and fun.
Funnier yet is daughter was looking at going seasonal at her TT CG. One of wife's staff just bought a spot there too. There's a BIG sign up "We're Hiring". Guess they were asked, LOL.
I was just looking at my calendar last night and thinking the same thing "yikes, I need to figure out where we're going camping and make reservations!"
Days are getting longer.... it's almost summer! 8)
The internet was listening! I just got email from ReserveAmerica saying it was time to make camping reservations.
Doodly doodly doo doo doooooo (spooky music)

Your computer is eavesdropping on you!
I won the lottery! Well, sort of.
I was making a reservation for June and the site I wanted was not available mid-week, so I took it several days earlier than I'd planned, starting on a weekend. Turns out one of the days I reserved is state parks' day and it's free! Bonus! ;D
Not necessarily a way of life, but a means to an end. I can live on my retirement money, but I can't afford to upgrade my camping equipment without another income. Camping is in my blood, so I'm only looking for work at Campgrounds. I could get better money almost anywhere else, but I like the life style!! Eventually (and hopefully soon) I'll re-retire and go back to being a full time Snow Bird.
Made our first reservation for the season. I pretty much picked the first place we like that had a site we like. Camping points are adding up, by end of summer we should have two free nights!
Cliff, all I can say is I'm jealous. Our plan when we got married was to retire and RV it, but then life happened. I'd love to travel, work camp every summer in some CG. Both of us have camped since young and it's in our blood too.
Cliff, it is nice to have something useful to do while you're camping. Getting paid some for the "something useful to do" is a bonus. If it extends what you can afford and makes life more comfortable, it makes perfect sense!
Some of you might remember Nick on PUX who worked from home long before COVID made it popular. To him, an "unofficial camping" trip was one where he worked from his campsite, as opposed to an "official camping" trip where he was NOT working at his campsite.
Think I remember Nick. Didn't he have the Trailmanor?
No, that was a different member (both in southern California). I forget his name...

I know the feeling, been going stir crazy but still can't bring myself out of the winter funk to start planning our camping season, maybe next month.
