Title: Heading south...
Post by: GoneCamping on Sep 30, 2024, 09:20 PM
The first leg of my south bound journey starts tomorrow. I worked my last shift at the campground yesterday, and will leave Maine tomorrow morning, going to stop at TT in Sturbridge Mass for a few weeks, before moving on to Virginia. I hope to at least keep the Rubber side down this time!!

Keep us updated on your trip south. Hope this dang hurricane didn't wreck any of the roads there.

I'm going to be well East of any of the Hurricane damaged area's! Mostly running straight down I-95 along the coast. However, Hurricane season isn't exactly over yet either, I'll be keeping a weather eye on things!

Truck towed pretty well so far, just not liking the idea that I'm back to a gas truck. Got only 6.12 mpg on this trip so far. Will see if slowing it down 5 mph will be of any benefit. Miss my Duramax Diesel's 11mpg towing mileage!

Yes, another storm brewing down there now.
SIL said the same thing yesterday about gas milage. He just bought a newer Dodge RAM 2200 with gas engine. Said he gets 3-4 MPG in the city but was hitting 13-14 towing the trailer on the highway! They were camped out at TT Indian Lakes in Batesville, IN this weekend. That CG has around 800 sites, and there is a KOA in the middle of it!

Keeping my eye on what is happening in the Orlando area. So far only storm damage has been leaves & twigs. I've still got a few weeks before I'm supposed to get there, so will see what happens. Back-up plan in case the state turns into a total disaster, perhaps Texas for the winter.
