Well, it finally happened all of this reservation talk must be contagious......
I bit the big one and made reservations for a nearby State Park for the 4th of July weekend[:@]
Due to DHs change in positions at work he may have to work that Saturday, seeing as the 4th is a Friday this year. This way we still get to camp (even if it is an a State Park[:@]) he can drive in to work on Saturday..........
With any stroke of luck maybe he ll get that Saturday off, if so we ll cancel the reservation and run to the woods as fast as we can

The sacrifices one must make to camp on a long weekend. Just think, camping in a SP has got to be better than sitting in the bitter cold we have now.

ForestCreaturewell bearbait...i have the microwave, tacky lights...but instead of a satelite...i bought the DH a portable dvd player with screen and remote...its really nice and small...and it also hooks up to tvs and acts as a regular player...sooooo

The only time we do NOT stay in a state park is when we go to Maine! No state parks on the ocean in Maine! Although after SOME of our experiences in state parks in Massachusetts, I am considering switching to Private parks there as well!

Garym053, We don t pay extra to be " entertained" . Most of our camping is done in State or National Forests. We let nature entertain us for the tidy sum of free to 10.00 a night. I hope we enjoy it too, thanks.

Hey, I just noticed the $10.00 per night!!! Now I m jealous, I pay $15.00 a night in Vermont and $24.00 a night in New Hampshire!!! Although the NH State Park we visit has Electric and Water and is in one of the greatest wildlife areas in the NorthEast! Moose, Bear, Loon, Osprey, Bald eagles, etc!
Are Michigan State Parks nice? Vermonts and New Hampshires are, Massachusetts parks are questionable, we ve stayed in a couple that I wouldn t go near again!

I m not sure about the State Parks here. I have only camped in 2, and they seem ok.
The state parks vary in price here form about 15 to 20 depending on the park.
I think the one we reserved is 17
