Just read about the washer box game.....What other games does everyone bring along that all ages can play???

ElaineDominoes, pick up sticks, Sorry (game like Trouble where you send people back to the beginning). With just a little help, our 3 year can play these.
We got a couple of the travel size versions of Milton Bradley games (Clue, Jr.; Sorry) . KB Toys sold them buy one, get the other for a penny.
ElaineUno is a great game for almost all ages (5yrs. +), especially if you get some playing card holders for the little ones. We also have one of the wood game sets in a metal box (available at Target, Kmart, etc.) and our kids always enjoy playing chess and Chinese checkers with that set. Our younger son likes Guess Who, and we all enjoy Yahtzee. We have travel-sized games of these and several others - great for rainy days and buggy nights. My kids favoite game is Shape-by-Shape (check out Binaryarts.com) - a great game to play alone. The only problem is we only have one - think we might have to get a second one to buy some occasional peace [;)].

ElaineDonkey Kong, Crash, Devils Cry, MotoCross, Mario Brothers, Grand Theft Auto, and all kinds of shooting games (Max Payne)...Just to name a few.
Keep s the kids intertained so I don t have too.

ElaineWe have an assortment of board games for the occasional rainy day. My wife and I taught our two older children how to play euchre, so we usually play a game or two under the canopy after the two younger ones go to bed.

ElaineWe play a variation of pick up sticks where we actually go into the woods and get a pile of different size twigs, and sticks. Pile them on the ground and play just like you would the regular table top game. Although with the size and curves of the sticksit makes it more challenging. The kids love to play this version. Also after the game you have your kindling to help start the campfire.

ElaineDW and I like to play cribbage. DS likes to play either " fetch me a beer boy" , or " lets see what icky bug like creature I can bring into the PU to scare mommie with" . When we fish...it s usually " lets tangle the line so daddy has to fetch, fix, etc"

Our kids are 11 and 12 and really into Pokemom, Yugio(sp?), etc. those collectable card games that I don t understand. So they like complex card games.
I found a game called " Killer Bunnies" , It sounds really corny but it can be alot of fun. It s complex enough for them and easy enough for me[:D].
It s not a collectible, you buy the set you get them all, they will release other editions later but they will all be in each set.
(I hate the gambling when buying the collectible card games, IMO those are kid pulltabs.)
It s a hard game to find, I have only seen it at a speciality game shop.

That s all they want to play now. So if your looking for a new game (for 12 and up), that everyone might like, You might want to try it.

My parents found a tub full of my old marbles and brought them over.
My DD & DS, 5 & 3, are getting into playing the " forgotton" game of marbles.
Of course one ends up finding marbles everywhere buts its a pretty simple game that seems to entertain them for a while. And can easily be played outdoors at the campsite.
ElaineWhen the kids were small a game we played to pass the time while driving was " My Father Owns A Grocery Store" Whoever starts, or the winner of the last round Says " My father owns a grocery store, and in it he sells somthing that begins with the letter..." Then everyone takes turns asking a question that can be answered with a yes or no. For example " Can you eat it?" Keep taking turns asking questions until someone guesses correctly. Good for killing at least 50 miles.

ElaineI had posted this same question in the old forum. We ended up with about 6 pages of games. I wish I had printed it off. The most common played games (from the last posting) were simple store bought games such as Yatzhee (? sp) & Uno. For us, we play a dice game for hours on end. However, with am active little guy, we re no longer able to sit very long to play....until nap or bedtime.
