Enough already[:@] We are getting MORE snow. I know I live in New England I should be use to it by now...but I m still sick of it!! One of my kids got a snow day and the other didn t...luckily I kept the other one home anyway because right now it isn t even dismissal time and it is coming down like crazy and driving is bad. The powers that be should have cancelled it for everyone. I feel badly for the bus drivers because we must have about 8 inches already and driving is very slippery and they ve got so many school children to deliver safely!
CamperrooThe real problem with snow is how the season that has snow interferes with camping!
Austin
CamperrooAll I have to say is... If I have to plow the friggin driveway one more time this winter, I m going to spit nails!!! The cold weather breaks, the drive is just getting down to bare dirt and the house is about to be shown again and I m thinking " hey.... they actually might buy the house this time... after all the driveway doesn t look THAT hard to maintain" and then BAM!!! we get slammed with 6+ more inches of that dreaded frozen crap!
Can anyone tell that I hate plowing the drive?
CamperrooLook at it another way. After all it is Winter. Let the snow fall now. It may mean we will have an early Spring, so the camping season can get started.
If schools quit being canceled, that is. However, I just found out today that the schools here can t go over June 13TH, I don t know how the days off will be made up now.
HANG IN THERE SPRING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.
Camperroolast time we got this much snow [: (] the campgrounds around here and up north couldn t open up May 1st because they still had that " stuff" on the ground!![:(]
CamperrooI didn t find out till I had DS all the way to school that it was cancelled! [:@] Oh well - I had to get milk anyway! I know what you all mean, though. This morning the weather report said " only one inch or so" - It just stopped snowing two hours ago!!!!! I don t have to worry about shoveling/plowing the drive though, I have 4 wheel drive! [:D] I do really miss the automatic car starter though! (poor little Sable [:o])
CamperrooI m actually envious. We haven t had a real good snow storm in what seems like years. I miss the winters of my youth. In HS, a snow day meant throw the skis in the car and head out for an extra day if skiing. Granted...if I still lived in Upstate NY, I might feel a little different.
CamperrooDuck,
Come visit the north east, you will have your memories refreshed.
CamperrooSend some of it here!!!! My girls have yet to go out and really play in the snow, go sledding, all that fun winter stuff! We have PLENTY of cold weather, but we keep getting these little inch or two storms. All they do is make driving a pain by making it slippery.

CamperrooSnow what snow? It keeps heading south and then north. I think our largest snowfall this winter has been 3" . Not what I m used to. I do miss it but I have kids that want to go sledding.
CamperrooSorry guys don t throw ice balls at me but we can t even get rain. It finally cooled down today and it was only 67. My kids have been wearing shorts to school. I want some winter!!!! It feels like Spring.
Jacqui
CamperrooSend some this way! Middle of Feb. in central Wis. and we ve only got about 4 inches on the ground. In exchange, we will send you our -5--10 below temperatures.[;)]

Duck,

Would love to. Last time I had DS up there was for a x-mas a few years back. Flew into Buffalo, and drove from there to Syracuse thru a snow storm (glad I had rented a front wheel drive car). He loved the snow. Last time I was there in winter was a couple years back when I was in NYC for a job transfer, and went to my sis s for the weekend before heading home. This time I had my truck (rear wheel drive only, no snow tires), and my sis gave me a " short cut" thru the Catskills to hit I81(?). Figures I would be driving at night in a snow storm. Snow plows were passing me. Didn t reach Syracuse till 1 am. Chastised my sis the next morning..but she only laughed " poor lil rednek in his big ole truck don t like the snow" . I like lots of snow, as long as you only go out to play in it.
CamperrooSnow? we have been getting snow?? Oh yea.. so we have! You know it is getting bad when you have to shovle you mailbox out of the snow bank just to see it.. When you need to take the top off the snow banks just so that you can open your car door.. at our house, he have close to 2 feet on the ground (we are pretty shelterd, so it does not melt quickly) OK now lets look to the bright side, This year we should not have to listen to any water shortage ot drought condtions.. (Unless they are bein gven by the same people who brougt us the " global warming" bull0) [;)]
CamperrooI HATE THE SNOW[:@]
I have seen more snow in the past week then I have all winter. We get the snow, then it warms up and starts to melt. Then it freezes and turns to ice (I " barely" make it to work one morning without becoming personal friends with the DITCH....and.....only driving 10MPH....SAD). If the ice wasn t bad enough, we get.....guess what??? MORE SNOW!!!
So now its snow over ice, cars spinning into the ditch everywhere, tempers flaring and me?....... WISHING FOR SPRING.
AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I ve got cabin fever, Poppy s lonely in the barn, and my horse got sick...... IM SICK OF WINTER!!!!!!
Anyway we re all okay now (except for poor Poppy who is still lonely[>:]). Thanks for the thread. I NEEDED to vent.[&:][:@][&:][:@][;)]
CamperrooCarol... their may just be a song there,
Your horse just got sick.. and your pop-up s got the blues.. and ya can t get out cuz your e stuck ina diitch..
Yea, I stink at rhyme.

QuoteWhat is up with all this snow!!
Drinking water????
CamperrooWe got some more last night, but what can I say, It s Michigan!! If I really was as fed up with winter weather as I claim to be, I d get the heck out of this state. But, I ve stayed here for 55 years now, you d think I d be used to it. Every winter we wonder " are we gonna be able to get to someplace warm for a little while?" And then we come right back to this. It seems like it s always worse after we get back than it was before we left. Can anyone explain that?
