Title: Can you turn the hitch over?

 I ve noticed that the trailer is a tad nose-down using the 4"  drop hitch we got with the trailer.   Our new Rodeo came with a straight hitch, but the trailer s slightly nose up on that.   Is it ok/save to turn the hitch over and remount the ball to drop it down 2" ?  (The hitch has a metal tab welded to the top where the ball bolts on)
 
 The hitch is rated 500 lbs...does it matter which side of the bar you mount the ball on?

 RedwolfI hate to say it ths way, but it depends.
 
 Some manufacturers build them to be used as either a rise or drop, but others don t.  The only way to know for sure is to contact the specific manufacturer.

 RedwolfIt would not hurt to check with the maker but if you think about it, if a welk will hold one way, it should hold the other.  I have always used mine as either way depending on if I was towing with the pick up or minivan.

 RedwolfMine will work either way, but I would check with the company that made yours.  I d rather be safe than sorry.[:)]

 RedwolfWe did not have to get a new bar when we bought the Bantam, the dealer just urned it over and it was perfect.

 RedwolfLet s put it this way.   I wouldn t want to be the first to find out if it is ok or not.  Check with the manfacturer to make sure it is ok.

 RedwolfIf your talking about a drawbar, then yes it is reversable. All drawbars; except extreme case of over 6 inches; are rated for drop and rise depending on which way they go in the receiver.

 RedwolfMike according to Reese, that is not the case.. They do may diffrent raise & drop recievers.. and they do not recomend using an upright one as a drop ect..
 
 Tim is correct, some can be, some can not.. Will it ever be a problem?? Probably not unless you start getting into heavy weight.. But I would check into it to be safe..

 RedwolfThanks for all the replies, guys.   I ll get in touch with the manufacturer and seek their opinion.
 
 Personally, I think it d be better to be a bit nose-down than nose-up, so I may just stick with the original hitch bar.

 RedwolfFFE, could you point me to where on the http://www.reeseprod.com./ site it give the info on drawbars NOT being able to be flipped. All the ones on the Reese site unless flat withour rise or drop are rated for rise and drop with the same weight rating.
