Title: Cedar Hill SP - TX
Post by: bikolee on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
I had posted this in the club section, but it would do better here.

The sites are not very level, not a big thing. The picnic table and fire ring are either up or down an average of 5 - 8 steps from the camping pads. The camping pads are literally a driveway. No shade, short and the road is right at the tongue of the trailer. In fact, ours was so short that I had to pull a pole out of the ground so I could pull out the rear bunk. No privacy between campers. This is true for the majority of the sites. Also, it is close to town. It is directly in the flight path of D/FW airport. Not real quiet, at any hour. Although the hiking trails aren t too bad, you pretty much have to drive to them. The dump station is not very conveniently located. And for some unknown reason, the park fees here are the highest I ve seen.

This is why we didn t like this CG and don t plan on a return trip.

The lake is nice. The park store is more than decent. The facilities weren t bad. They also have a little restaurant. A bit pricey, but not bad.

bikoleeAnd you ought to try that place on a Friday or Saturday in spring or summer.  Seems that park draws more then it s share of the really " unusual"  people from the surrounding area.

bikoleeTalk about unusual....Got up Sunday morning and took a walk to the ladies room.  Went in did my business and when I came out there was a little old man standing by the sinks.  Didnt speak very good english but I directed him to the right bathroom and then he asked if I had a cigarette.  Very strange!!!!!
