A while ago, before we got the PUP, I had started a file on my computer that listed all the places that I wanted to visit. Not all of them are accessible with the PUP, however a good portion of them are. Some are places that my wife and I have been and now want to take our kids to. My wife and I have been to every state together except Alaska and most provinces of Canada. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what places are on that list. Some of mine include:

All the National Parks (lofty goal I realize but will be fun trying!)
So. Padre Island, TX
Death Valley
Gettysburg
Disney World
Martha's Vineyard
Nantucket
Alaska

I look forward to seeing your lists!

I'd love to see all the National Parks as well.

We have done Disney World with the PU.
We did not stay at Fort Wilderness (Disney's CG) but I hear it is nice.
We stayed at Tropical Palms rv resort in Kissimmee which is but a few miles away from Magic Kingdom.  Kids had a great time.

Good luck on your quest.

We don't have a/c on the pup so we need to choose our destinations accordingly unless we add a/c or buy another one with it. I think that camping at Disney World would be a kick.

We are camping at the Grand Canyon in March and we are looking forward to that.

Good luck in your quest to visit all the NP's as well.

Visiting all of the National Parks is high on my list of things to do.  I really want to see South Dakota, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.  The last time I was at Death Valley it had rained the night before.  At Badwater it looked like there was a lake in Death Valley.  The water was only a fraction of an inch deep, but it covered acres of the valley.  The ground was so hard the water wasn't soaking in.  If you get to Gettysburg let me know.  We only live 2 hours away.:)

We go to Fort Wilderness in November and use a heater not our AC unit.  It is much more expensive than most other parks and if you rent a golf cart to get around even more so.  That being said there is so much do do and the kids have a great time.  We sometimes go to the parks and sometimes just enjoy the campground.

Death Valley is my least favorite of all of the NP's I've been to.  But the campground outside the west entrance was not bad.

I don't find that all that much surprising. I don't want to go there for the camping experience but more for the sightseeing/photographing experience. It's not exactly a place that most people want to camp at.

When we were planning our long trip in the summer of 2001, DS wanted to camp in Death Valley.  We talked him out of it, and we sure are glad we did.

We stayed in Pahrump, NV (which hit 111

Did you like the bottle house?  Did you see the crickets in some of the bottles?  How about the ghost?:)

I have to ask.............Didn't it dawn on you that it might be hot in Death Valley in the summer? :S

It's a place I want to visit, not camp in.

I live in a family.  I was overruled.  Even then, it was difficult to get the family to understand why I wanted at least a gallon of water per person in the van until we were in it.

I don't recall seeing crickets in the bottles.  By the time we were there, they no longer allowed people to go into the house, but only see it from the outside.

A number of the purple glass bottles had been stolen by smashing surrounding bottles.

Death Valley......Death Valley........ Now let me see, there's something unappealing about this place when I hear the name. Oh yeah maybe it's the DEATH part.

Our friends went and took lots of pictures and after looking at the pictures, I decided I had seen enough. Not appealing to me at all. But they loved it. To each his own.

Last spring, my sister-in-law and her husband were in Death Valley right after the heaviest spring rains in years.  For a few days, Death Valley literally exploded with color, as dormant wildflowers and seeds took full advantage of the very brief rains.

It can be spectacular, but ony for a few days every few years.

But you are right to avoid it...every year, there are people who enter Death Valley and are simply never heard from again.

Living in AZ I have learned the importance of water. You were wise to think that way. With the heat here you don't sweat like you do in the humidity so the dehydration sneaks up on people. For anyone coming to AZ in the summer or to Death Valley I have three words for you. Water, Water and more Water!

Austin, where in MA did you live? I grew up in Norwood.
