I cancelled our annual Mother's Day camping trip today. Lots of reasons, and it is looking like it might be fall before we get to do any camping. :(
#1- Weather says it is going to be thunderstorms all weekend, and I just don't have the energy to bring home a wet pup and have to set it back up.
#2- Donna's knee is hurting more, total replacement is June 5.
#3-I am still under limited weight restrictions from surgery #1, surgery #2 is May 22. My brain will forget and I know I'll do something stupid.
#4- Daughter & SIL have yet to get their trailer repaired. Camping w/o the grandkids isn't any fun.
At least we have the firepit in the backyard. Had a nice fire this past weekend when family visited. They were from the Great White North!  ;D

kind of a bummer, but health comes first!!! I'm 69 years young and still pounding it out 40 hours per week, but you can be sure I feel it every minute and in every step I take. My 2nd and final retirement is not too far away.

And I mean it this time!   ;D

Tim, it is a bummer to have to cancel camping trips.  We've had to do it at least three times in the last year for various family health problems.  Everyone knows we've canceled because I'm grumpy!  :'(

I'm ok with some rain on a trip, but if it's raining the entire time, it's no fun.  I can stay dry much easier at home.

50-60% chance of thunderstorms all weekend. A little rain is fine but being trapped inside the whole trip stinks.
A few years ago a sudden storm came out of nowhere. Donna & I had to stand out holding the awning down, getting soaked. It was blowing so hard Donna got lifted off the ground a couple times. :)) The awning had been re-sewn a few years before or I'm sure it would have torn at the top.

Well of course the weather didn't get nasty like it was supposed to. Dripped when we would have been setting up on Friday then quit. Dripped a few times Saturday morning, one good rain for about 20 minutes in the afternoon. Clear skies after that and all day Sunday.
It would have been chaos anyway. Pup never got prepped for spring.
