Went to my Doctors office today, followed by a visit to the VA Medical Center. Both have given me a green light to start my trek north! I'll leave here at TTO next Friday, spend 4 nights at TT3F (near the Villages), then head for my next stop in South Carolina (1 night) then land in Virginia for a week.

Good timing too, it's starting to get a little hot down here!

Now all I have to do is find a summer job. Sent out about 25 Resume's the other day, already got a couple of calls on it. One I had to turn down because they use ADP Payroll Services, and I'd rather not deal with them again. The other, from Bear's Den Campground in Berwick Maine sounded great, until I did some math. They were offering me a position, where the first 20 hours per week went toward site rent, anything after that paid at $17 per hour. Doing the math, that worked out to $1,360 per month based on their hourly rate. One of the reasons I didn't go back to Sun Outdoors is they wanted $600+ per month, and I didn't want to pay that again. I had to politely decline the position based on their 20 hour per week for site, just can't do that. If half my pay is going toward something, I want it to go towards replacing this trailer I'm in.

I'm sure something will turn up, I still have over 20 resume's out there that have not yet responded.

Meanwhile, I did the "Belly Crawl" under my 5th wheel today, and rewired the entire electric brake system. Got tired of my brake controler telling me 1/3 the time I had an open circuit, 1/3 the time telling it had a short, and the remainder of the time it worked fine. I still have to terminate the wires inside the pin box, rewire the break-a-way, and test everything, but it all should work now. The old wires running through the axles was brittle and breaking.

First stage complete, left TTO this morning and pulled into TT3F. I'll leave here Monday morning for TT The Oaks at Point South (Yemassee SC - 1 night) and arrive Williamsburg Va by Tuesday night.

Update:

It's been a long hard two days, went from Wildwood FL to Yemassee SC on Monday, stayed at TT The Oaks at Point South. Didn't even bother to level or unhook, the site was very level anyway, and my intention was for an early start the next morning.

Yemassee SC to TT Williamsburg Va, this was a pretty long run, took a total of 7.5 hour (that includes 2 very short fuel & dog walk stops). Arrived here at 4:30pm and did a full set-up as I'm here for a week. As we pulled through the entry gate I asked the Dog, "Zeus, do you know where you're at?" He sat up and took a quick look out the window (the gate is on top of a hill and you look down into the campground), one look and he started his "Scooby Doo" talking, he recognized the place instantly and was super excited. It helps to point out, we spent the Pandemic Lock-Down here, 3.5 months. He knows the park very well.

Before setting up we took a good walk around the B & C sections, and I spotted Kenny's rig about 2 rows over from mine. His rig sticks out like a sore thumb, Giant Toy Hauler pulled with a full size Volvo truck, carries a Smart car across the back of the truck, and a lifted Golf Cart, all done up with bright orange & ocean blue graphic Wrap.

I met this guy a couple years ago in Encore's Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort down in Florida, instantly recognized one of the graphics on his trailer (small graphic below the bedroom slide) as a company that I used to fix Microfilm Equipment at, it's his Uncles shop. Anyway, we run into each other every year at various points moving around the Thousand Trails campgrounds. He's actually from this area (as am I), and it turns out we have some mutual friends too.

And his uncle is Charlie Hackworth, which explains this other page....

At any rate, I'm here until next Tuesday morning!!

Wow, you have been on the go. Not sure why these last few posts did not show up as new on my PC.
Anyway, one week in one spot sounds good. We will be heading to camp in one week for 7 weeks!
Nice to find friends along the road. I like that golf cart! And Charlies graphics are too much! He does some nice work.

Left TT Williamsburg this morniing, arrived at Lums Pond State Park in Bear Delaware around 3:30pm. I did a full set-up because I'll be here 2 days. I'm thinking of hooking everything up late tomorrow afternoon so I can get going early on Thursday morning. Planning to arrive at TT Sturbridge (Massachusetts) Thursday evening. That'll be a 6 day stay. Not sure what happens after that, I'm reserved at TT Moody Beach in Wells Maine from there, but have a phone interview with a campground at the tip of Cape Cod tomorrow. I'll have to see what they offer, but likely will still go to Maine.

Another update, arrived at TT Sturbridge (Massachusetts) on Thursday. Here for 6 days, leave on Wednesday for TT Moody Beach Maine. Have a job offer at Coastal Acres out on the tip of Cape Cod, but I'm turning that down, it's just too isolated out there! I'm interviewing with Pine Lake RV Resort in Sturbridge Mass tomorrow (Monday), that's about 2 miles from where I'm at right now. Already met the park manager yesterday, and they are looking for one more maintenance man, so who knows! I'm still going to Maine on Wednesday, but if they offer me job I'll be back in a week. If not, I've got the next 8 weeks reserved Maine.

That's great Cliff! Thanks for the update.
We started our season on May 1. So far 2 repairs cost me $200+.
One makes me mad. No hot water because the propane tanks that we were told got filled before we towed it home were not. One tank was dead empty; the other one had enough to run the furnace for about two hours. Grrr.

Hey Tim, that's irritating!

I'm booking a cabin on the harbor for three nights in July.  We have a trip before that visiting various family, but it's going to be hotel rooms.  Still beats doing projects at home   8)
