Question regarding calendar options

If you look at the upper right hand corner, there is a button labeled "calender".

Other then Birol , I'm not sure many people have visited.  Right now the forum is set up to display your birthday on the calendar if you have included it in your profile.

Do we want to leave this option on?  I can't see why not, as you have to input your birthday; which implies that you want folks to know when it is.

The second thing, do we need additional calendars?  The first thought that came to my mind was that we could have a camping trip calendar, so folks could post when they are camping if they may be looking for company.  But, you can already post that on the current default calendar.  Just a thought.

Leave it on I say ........ It is a good thing, expecially to coordinate camping trips and so on. This way I can see where you are camping and camp right next to you and ask to use the facilities

Went in to add b-day as recurring event and it posted it, but didn't come out like the others, and went in to edit and it won't let me - says I'm not the poster

I like the calendar idea even though I refuse to post my birthday.  I don't think adding additional calendars would be a good idea however.  The site is pretty fragmented as it is and would be entirely too much to keep up with.

I deleted it.  You just need to add your birthday to your profile, then it automatically comes up on the calendar.

I just posted somthing on the Calendar for a Thanksgiving camp trip. I need to edit the message but the system won't let me. It keeps sayiing I'm not the poster or it is not allowed. How can I get back in?

Aware of it but don't think it's something I'll use.  See no problem with it being there as long as others are happy and it doesn't use up a bunch of band width.
