 dee106Dee,
I can t help you with the first, but I can help you with the second.  Right in the middle of Pennsylvania, right off I-80 there is a PA state park, Bald Eagle State Park, located about 8 miles from the Milesburg exit.  The next exit is Bellefonte, and there are two private campgrounds there, located about 3 miles off the exit.

The state park you can access through the PA state park website to get more info, the private parks are Fort Bellefonte, 814-355-9820, and Bellefonte KOA, 814-355-7912.

Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, let me know, I live around this area.

Would recommend the KOA in Bellefonte on the way back,as Shirley recommended.
Stayed there many times in 2000 and 2001 during Penn State Football season.
Its a very nice and clean campground and very friendly folks. The owners name:
Barbara(wife),Rick(husband) and Tim(brother of Rick). If you happen to be there on a sunday, try the pancakes and sausages, you wont regret it.
Sorry,I cant help you on your way out to Ohio, never been out that way.
 Hope this helps.

 dee106Hi dee,

If you would be interested in staying in the Poconos, Hickory Run SP is a nice SP.  they have one and a half electric loops and a real neat boulder field.  If you want a SP in the central part of the state RB Winter SP is located a little bit off of I80.  If you take exit 185 (RT 477) it is about 12 miles to the park.

 dee106Dee,
If you re staying for two or three days, and not just overnight, what kinds of things do you like to do?  There are Amish farms nearby, Penn State University is just up the road, there s some great trout fishing nearby. . . antiques, etc.

dee106

dee106one thing i can say about Ken, as long as it s not ski  ing or rock climbing, he s game.... farms are good, looking at antiques are nice, flea markets are cheaper! [8D]fishing is always good!  sightseeing, museums, war stuff, railroads, all good[:D]
