Help!!!!  I am trying to find replacement clips for the curtains in our 1996 Sun Valley.  I have tried the local dealers but I think all the people that work in the parts department are from another planet.  Please Help!

campfogKim, you can try, believe it or not, some of the larger fabric stores and even some Wally worlds have the tape with the tabs on it. Take some with you to show them what you want.
OR you can do what we did. Replace the damn things with buttons. FInd a size that just fits in the track without falling out of the center opening. We find they work better than the plastic tabs. They slide much easier and don t bind up when opening or closing the curtains.

campfogThanks.  I just got back from a local RV store that I never dealt with and I bought some C-Clips with a snap opening and some plastic strips with the other part of the snap and they fit great.  I just finished recoving the curtains with some new material so these will be easy to just sew on!  Thanks again for replying!

campfogSome people have sewn small buttons on the curtains instead of the tape. The buttons then slide into the existing track.

campfogThe clips on some of our curtains started to come off (they re only held on with a fishing line type of thread) and we just told the dealer and they ordered new curtains to replace those with the clips that were falling off.

I would think that if you r camper is still under warranty (this assumes you re the original owner) your dealer would just replace the curtains for you.

 Good luck!

campfogNo we are not the original owners.  But the new clips with the snaps work great.  I just sewed on the tape after I recovered the curtains.  Just for kicks do you know how much the new curtains are?  I was told by the local dealer that coleman doesnt have replacement curtains for our camper.

Unfortunately, I don t know how much they are--our dealer just gives them to us.  It sounds odd that Coleman wouldn t have curtains for your camper...Coleman pop ups are still being sold with curtains in them...maybe your dealer means that they don t make the color of yours anymore?

BTW, how do you like your Sun Valley?  That s the model we have too and I love ours![:D]

campfogI dont think it is coleman that we have a problem with I think it is our dealer.  They are real meanies.  We love our PU.  A friend of ours bought theirs first (2002 Chyenne).  We didnt want to spend that much for a new one so we looked in the paper and found ours 1996 and it came loaded to the till.  They sold it with everything including fishing gear, pots & pans, bedding, rain coats, dishs, cups, glasses, utensils, tv, porta potty, lanterns, you name it we didnt have to by a thing (but of course we did) for a mere $5,000.  I thought it was a good deal.  It is also in mint condition.  Now I am online almost every day looking for modificaitons for it.  We absolutely love it!

If memory serves, when I called my Coleman dealer to inquire about new curtains, it was around $300 for the set.

I found replacement clips for both the ruffle and panels at CampingWorld.  It sound like they re the same as you re using.  However, after purchasing them, I discovered I could cut the strip of fabric off the old curtains and use that as the " tape"  part of the clips and use the old ones.  So I took $67 worth of clips back to CampingWorld.  I ve finished sewing the new panels, lining and all.  I reused the netting from the old ones.  I washed tem on gentle cycle in cold and hung them to dry.  Then I cut the fabric just below the netting so I d have something to stitch to.  The top part where the clips are are hidden by the ruffle, so I left that intact.

I may have to rebuy the clips for the ruffle, as the existing clips are on very-stretched-out-lost-its-zing elastic and I haven t figured out yet if I ll be able to use them as they re vvveeeerrrryyyy spaced out from being so stretched out.   But still, I ve got less than $100 into my new curtains, they re customized to our taste, and a much heavier fabric than originally in the trailer.

 Good luck!
