Coleman trailers use little nylon stubs to keep the seats from moving. Unfortunately, they wear away the wood as you raise & lower the seats. Here s a link to Jack Thompson s site; go to picture 14 and make the mod now! I informed our dealer about this problem a week after we got our popup. He looked at his year old Bayside & found the wood worn away! He now tells new owners to get the pieces and do the mod. (Jack also has lots of neat modifications other than this one.)  topcat7736Al,

I think as of about 2002, all new model Colemans now have metal seat frames (I could be wrong[&:])  My Santa Fe does.  It may be dependant on the exact model on how the seats are made.

But, your advise it well placed.  I have seen some of the wood seat frames eaten away by constant opening and closing of the seat cover.

topcat7736Tim thanks for posting this link.  I will have to check the seats on my trailer.  I added cupboard doors on the ends of the seats so we don t lift them as much as we used to.

topcat7736We also have a " metal"  seat frame so I probably shouldn t " meddle"  with this thread, but I think Jack deserves a " medal"  for this very worthy mod.!
 O. K.  I m going to bed now, lol.
