 DiWWell you know Diane.. I kinda agree with the other parent.. Sometimes problems like this need to have action taken, no so much for the " payment for the crime"  but for the social skills that are lacking.. We need to teach our childern they can not just steal something no matter how small. If the punishment is small, there is no reason to stop doing it again, the risk is small. But make it a point in their life to reflect on, and it may just wake them up...

 DiWDi I am so glad that this is winding its way down.  Too bad they live near you.  DS takes a phone to school one day a week.  He walks to an activity that he has a short distance from the school.  I don t get there until almost 2 hours later.  They are banned in his school, but I feel better if he has one in his backpack that stays in his locker.  It is kept turned off and he knows not to tell anyone that he has it.
