Our anniversary is in May and we want to go PopUping for 1 week.  We were thinking about Colorado since we ve heard many nice things about Colorado, but neither of us has been camping there.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go?  Here are our criterias...

 1.  MUST allow PopUp (naturally...I know some places don t due to bears, etc)
 2.  Must allow Dogs
 3.  Lush, green, maybe a river
 4.  Somewhat secluded
 5.  Nearby Walmart or Grocery store for " Forgot me s"
 6.  Good fishing

IF you think of a place like this even if it s not in Colorado, please let me know.  Tho , we d like to stay within a maximum 6-8 hour drive of home.

 JemJen24Hi Jennifer,

Our anniversary is in May as well, May 19th to be exact.

We normally go camping for our anniversary unless we go on a cruise and last year, we did Palo Duro canyon. We had a great time.

We ll be at Inks Lake this year for 8 nights.

We ve also talked about camping in the mountains of Arkansas. I ve through the state several times and Arkansas is beautiful and there are some fantastic camping areas. I believe their website is: [link=]http://www.arkansas.com[/link]. You might check Arkansas out as a possible destination.

Our course you can t go wrong with Colorado.

JemJen24Chuck, I ve already sent off for my free Arkansas planning guide.  Here s to hopin  that we find something nice.

Still would like to hear about Colorado tho ..sigh.

Turn Key

JemJen24Have you you been to Guadalupe River State Park?  Heading there for a week in April.  I believe it would fit you with out having to go to Colorado.  Just a thought.  Have a site:

 Happy anniversary, in advance.

JemJen24Thanks for the additional suggestion of the Guadalupe, but I think I ve found our park.

Thanks to Chuck (yet again) we ve opted for Queen Wilhemina State Park in Arkansas.  It sits atop the second largest mountain there and is just about as isolated as you can get.

I made the reservations this morning for the 10th throught he 17th of May.

JemJen24I highly suggest someplace quiet, secluded, and private!!!  [:D]
I went to Colorado about ten years ago, (not camping though) and it was fabulous!!
Have a great romantic time!  [;)]
