Does anyone have the new Coleman Monterey?  It has the automatic controls to put it up.  We are interested in it if it works well.  (Bad back!)

CudamanOK, I m going to throw my $.02 in here.

Rather than spend the thousands extra for the " automatic"  Monterey, how about picking a unit with a floorplan you really love and also buy a heavy duty cordless drill and socket genie?

The drill that wil lift a pop up top is around $250 - $300 and the socket genie is $29.95 (from the PUT store).

So, for around $300 you can have any model you want, rather than just the one floorplan and probably save money in the long run.

 tim5055Thanks.

We have a 2001 Utah and have used the drill method before.  The Monterey has a great floor plan and we love the smaller dinette.  Since we live in Florida, we are outside almost all of the time during the day.  The Monterey also has a bay window in the kitchen area and a larger refrigerator.  We like the storage areas also.  We don t want to make a change unless the new features save time and energy when setting up and down and they work well.  DH is a bells and whistle guy, I just love to camp...

CudamanI had the chance to check it out thoroughly at the Coleman dealer conference this year.  Great camper.  As for quality, they had tested the motors well in to the thousands of openings and closings, without failure.

Bottom line ... If you like the camper, buy it.  And do so from a good dealer.

CudamanThe only thing I didn t like about the Monterey is that there isn t much floor space to put things when traveling.
