I guess it s about time to replace the tires on my trailer. It finally has gotten warmer here so I uncovered the camper today and found out that I had a totally flat tire on one side. It was fine when I put it away for the winter, but was flat now. I looked it over good after putting air in it and can see signs of weather checking so I am going to have to replace them. I called a local dealer who can get Duro brand tires for me and found out that my size  20.5x8-10 trailer 6 p.r. is $40.16 per tire. The 8 ply rated ones are $42.24. Do you think I should stick with the 6 ply or for the $2.08 more go with the 8 ply?  I am thinking of using the 8 ply.

rccsI had that size tire on my first PU.  When I bought new tires I went with the 8 ply and didn t have any problems.

 rccsrccs-
Check your local Fleet Farm, they carry the Duro tire line with and without rims, and they are on sale this week! I ll be picking up two this weekend, because I, too, have a flat and sidewall cracks. Be sure to get the ST (special trailer) designation.

rccsMiller Tyme    I stopped at Fleet Farm tonight on my way home and yes they do have their trailer tires on sale for 10% off, but they do not sell Duro brand. They have Carlisle. Most of the posts I have seen here have recomended the Duro brand and that is what my camper came with so that is what I think I will stay with. It seems to me that someone posted once that they didn t have good luck with the Carlisle tires on their camper.  Also Fleet s sale price for the Carlisle tires is still $6.00 more per tire than the tire dealer I checked with on the Duro ones.

Just got back from Fleet Farm-yes, their tires are Carlisle(sorry about that), but that s what my Pal came with and they lasted 18 yrs(including 6 yrs in storage).
Picked up one already mounted on a rim w/balancing-$59[8D]
