jpreiserPut some soapy water on it and see if it bubbles.... If it does, guess what?

jpreiserReplace it, no sense having a potential problem on the road or camping. We ve got enough things that can go wrong without having something just waiting to happen.

Also Squirrels love propane hoses, just like spiders love popane burners for webs and nesting.

jpreiserWhen we first got our Camry, I noticed bite marks on the spark plug wires. Tons of bite marks, the shield was exposed in a lot of places. I took it to the dealer and barked, what kind of a cable is this, can t you guys manufacture a cable properly ?

They politely told me, that it was either a squirrel or something else which bit the cables and warranty would not cover it. We were living next to a nice big park in our old house and we had the habit of feeding " our"  squirrels peanuts, they always came to us and got their fill. So probably one day we pissed them off [:D]

jpreiserI had to replace one of the Jayco ss, the service manager at dealer asked me if I saw a squirrel acting drunk then keeling over (dead). he said that the animals cannot survive after the infusion of gas, if they bit down that far. In my case they did, turned on either bottle and gas flowed out the hole.

jpreiseryipes thanks for the advice, we will replace it anyway  so I won t have to worry about it... needless to say I hope what ever chewed it didnot go up in the pop up!! Now I will have to pull it out of the garage and open it up... [:(]

jpreiserYou might want to get wire loom (a cover to put over hoses).  That should stop any critters from biting the rubber hoses.

 jpreiserNow for the technical details---

Newer pop ups are equipped with the new fangled " safety"  LP Gas hoses.  You can tell them because they have  a green connector that attaches to the LP Gas tank.

I kept having problems with no LP Gas flow and chose to replace hte " safety"  hose with a hose designed for a gas BBQ grill.  The grill hose has a black connector.

Using the BBQ conector will defeat a couple of safety features, but I was willing to peu up with it for the assurance that I would have gas when it got cold outside.

If nothing else, just understand that the person you buy the hose from may ask what kind you want.

Details about this are one of the web pages I keep planning to put together - but there never seems to be sufficient time.
