Here s the deal, This is a single tube fluorescent light powered by 8 AA Batteries. Now AA batteries are 1.5 volt, so you could remove the batteries and solder in a lead wire, now you got a 12V Fluorescent light! 12 inches long. Perfect for above the sink.
Go to HomeDepot.Com and search for SKU# 456467.

MtnCamperFor 10 bucks it s worth a look see at least. Quite a bit cheaper than the ones I ve seen and I had to wire them up anyway to accept a 1/4 plug.

MtnCamperThanks for the lead......will look into it!

MtnCamperI don t think you would be satisfied with the amount of light you would get from a single tube flourescent light. I have one with two tubes above my sink and it is not really enough light yet because it is only a shorter fixture with two 8 watt tubes, which is probably what the one you are talking about has in it. I would have used a longer fixture with two tubes by the sink if there were more room to put one there.

MtnCamperGotta agree w/rccs on this one.
Looked at the fixture this past w/e & just was not impressed with it. Oh well, back to the drawing (lighting) board.....

MtnCamperWhat happened to the 12v fluorescent light that the Pop UP Times store used to have? I was thinking about getting one because we have an outlet above the couch that could use a light there.

MtnCamperDave quit selling that light because his cost went way up, so the resale would be really high. As far as the Home Depot light goes, it s too small. Better for a closet.
Here is another option. These lights are 6 to 26 watts, and are 750 lumens each bulb (13 watt bulbs).
 according to GE Lighting.

MtnCamperThose are exactly what I have in my camper. I have the 16 watt above the sink and the 26 watt over the table. The 26 watt is great, but the 16 watt could be better. If it were not for the amount of room between the edge of the roof and the tracks for the door I would put a 26 watt over the sink also.
