Hey all!

Last May we headed up to Plymouth, MA area for a few days and stayed at the Middleboro KOA...  We plan to do the same this year, but we were hoping for a campground closer to the Plymouth Rock / Mayflower II area.  We would like full hookups and also the CG must allow us to bring our dog.  Any suggestions??

Hi Copcarguy,
I'm a little familar with the area, I've camped and spent some time there. I was ready to suggest Pinewood Lodge Campground which I've stayed at. But I went on to their site and saw that they don't accept dogs, so that's out. I went onto the Campmass.com web site, based on the area I would recommend you try Sandy Pond Campground (//www.sandypond.com/). There is also Indianhead resort but they are kind of vague on their website. Unfortunately I haven't stayed at either of those CGs. The other suggestion I would make to you is to stay away from Ellis Haven Campground. I have not stayed there but I took a look around and I did't care for it. They try to jam to many people into an area.
These are just some suggestions. I know how it is when your trying to find campgrounds  . I've been to some CGs when I wish the website was as nice as the campground, some are a little exaggerated to say the least. Sometimes when we are in an area we might take some time to check out other CGs in the general area. We've found some good CGs that way. Let me know if I can pass any local info on to you. We are from Massachusetts in the Boston area. We usually head North when we camp so we don't stay locally.

Good luck.

Mike

Indian Head didn't impress me much at all and that was 2 years ago... I'd probably go to Sandy Pond next time....
Indian Head had fair bathrooms, their playground was nothing but a slide and swings  and the flies were ferocious!  Only positive was the site we had was good sized....
