I remember a thread about this place on the other forum, but can t find anything on search.

What can we expect from this State Park?  Will we really see any manatees (website says " occasional"  viewings of manatees)?  Is it a place to spend an entire day on the way to our destination (Ft Wilderness)?

 TIA!!!

 Miss-TeriMiss-Teri -
When will you be going there?  That makes all the difference about viewing Manatees as they go into the spring in the cold weather months then head back out to the river as the weather starts warming up.  (This is MY number one favorite campground in Florida).  Let me know and I will get you some information concerning the time of year you will be there!

Miss-TeriI ll second camperjones  comment...it s also my favorite CG.

I REALLY like the fact that you can walk across the parking lot and go for a dip in the spring (72 degrees F year round) without having to get in the car like at many of the other ones.

They even have a snack bar where you can buy hot dogs and burgers.  Plus canoe and kayak (I hope they have these by now) rental.

There s a lovely wooden boardwalk that overlooks the Suwannee River.  In February last year we saw oodles (8?) of manatees...zero in August.
