Forgive me if this has already been a discussion.
On the left side of my Sun Valley, the bottom of the seal on the underside of the roof seems to have rotated outward.  Now when closed, the seal overhangs the camper body wall by about 1/2"  or so.  I wonder if this is caused by the bay window for the swing level galley?  Anyone have any suggestions to bring the seal back to vertical and seal properly against the body?
I think that I saw some type of protector from OZ&Us for the seal over the bunkends but don t recall discussion on the bay window.  Can someone clarify this mod and its install?
 Thanks,
 Rob

BedBugsI think you will find this is fairly normal. On the SanteFe we have, it  hangs over one side, then you will notice it on the other side. It s still has a good seal, but I think it just comes from the roof shifting, and changing with temperature.

You can t push a credit card under it in this spot can you? I think the rubber seal expands, and has to go out. You can try to open it a little, then leave it for a few hours, shut it again. Just to see if it changes.

BedBugsI was just reading our Bayside manual today and I remember reading that it is normal for the seals to overhang the sides........ expansion and contraction.

BedBugsThat s just where our seal began its outward expansion. Before long, the entire side began to expand over the side. We brought our  01 SunValley in right before the one year warranty was up and the service mgr said the roof was bowing (not roof sag but the other problem) and the problem would only get worse. The dealer replaced the roof, no charge. I believe they have a test to see if the roof needs replacing. I would recommend having it checked. Of course, you may just be seeing normal expansion/contraction but once ours started expanding, it never came back in. Originally it was just at the bay window, but then it was the entire length on that side. The front and back seals were fine and we never had any leakage.

 BedBugsThanks for the info...
Unfortunately, we bought the camper from the original owner.  Though it was rarely used and in great shape, the warranty doesn t transfer.  I am sure that you already knew that.  I would hate to see what the replacement cost for the roof would be.
 Thanks again,

BedBugsI would first take a look at maybe just changing th eseal before i changed the whole roof.

BedBugsHave you had any trouble with leakage? If the seal just hangs over a little, it may just be cosmetic and you will see seals hanging over on other units. The people who had leakage problems usually had trouble with the seal in the front (and they could slide a credit card under it). Do you have the seal with a bunch of fingers or is it the O seal? Maybe just the outer part of the seal hangs over, allowing the innermost part to seal. When we brought our SunValley in to the dealer, we were having A/C and a bike rack added. Maybe our dealer changed our roof just to be on the safe side - so he wouldn t have to put on a/c & roof rack twice.
