We just booked Four Mile Creek Campground near Niagra Falls for late June. Anybody have any info on this CG? We booked by going only to the ReserveAmerica site and printing the site maps... Know nothing else about the place (though I recall seeing some positive posts on the old board... I think...).

We got site 285 in the 200 electric loop.

Anyone know how far it is from Niagra Falls? Toronto? What else is there to do there?

Anything we can find out about this CG would be extremely helpful!

Good news! The snow is almost all melted!! It might even get into the 40 s this weekend!![:@]     Keep telling me New England is a beautiful place...

 Thanks!

PopUpPeepsOnce you cross the border its just a little over an hour to Toronto from Niagara Falls. Lots to do and see in this neck of the woods. If you want a canadian viewpoint  just email me off board with your types of interests and I ll hook you up with some links or info.
my website has a whole page dedicated to the info on and around the falls if you care to browse sorry  about the pop ups but I m not ready to spring for a paid account yet [&:]

PopUpPeepsWe stayed at 4 mile SP Labor Day weekend, Aug  01. Very little traffic - we were expecting a nightmare like we have in NJ. We drove to the Canadian side once so we could tour around. A short distance in from the falls is very commercialized - lots of arcade type places, then hotels and fast food places everywhere. The Ontario KOA is in that area too in case you want to check it out. No problem driving in but that was before the current world situation. Easily found our way around using a regular map - it s highway most of the way to the cg. Several times we drove to the Am. side (Rainbow Bridge) and parked in the park there. Show them your 4mile pass and parking is free. You can then walk across the Rainbow Bridge (I think it cost $.50 per person and yes, you go through customs). There s a nice park on the US side and you can do the touristy stuff if you want. When we were there, they had free fireworks on Friday nights. Just stick your chair right up at the railing and you can look across at the Canadian side. Can t remember but the ride wasn t long - maybe 15-20 min (my memory is bad[:(]).

As for the cg, don t be turned off by how open the sites are. We didn t like it when we drove in. We re used to wooded hilly cgs and this is flat, grassy and open - maybe 2 trees per site in our electric loop. But the sites are quite large and you really have room to spread out. There was very little difference from one site to another. We didn t stay in your loop but I seem to remember liking your loop better. Sites weren t as open, some of the lake sites actually had so many trees you couldn t see water. The bathroom in your loop wasn t as busy as ours, which often had a line for the 2 showers. Your site is on a deadend and I didn t walk down there but I think there may be a shortcut near your site that goes to the lakefront sites. I believe there may have been a transformer nearby too.

Cg store wasn t anything special from what I heard (wasn t there). We found a place nearby that sold fresh corn on the cob and other goodies. Had a beautiful rainbow form right over our site one day. Rangers offered nature craft programs and bird watching. They also drove through at night and even though it was a holiday weekend, there was no rowdiness (nothing like our Memorial Day weekend from hell at Cape May NJ). Paved roadways I recall, with grassy sites.

If you like forts, you will be very close to Fort Niagara. We spent an afternoon there. There s no swimming in Lake Ontario but there are pool(s) at Fort Niagara and maybe tennis courts?

Have a great trip. It was well worth the $16/night or so it cost us. We were out most days doing the touristy stuff. In fact, once or twice we returned to the falls area after spending the afternoon (or dinner) at our cg so travel wasn t an issue.
