Just got a new Jeep Liberty! [:D] My DW fell in love with it right on the showroom floor.  It has the factory tow package on it with a wiring harness.  Has anyone ever installed a brake controller on this model of TV?  My camper dealer says there should be a snap together connector under the dash, but I can t find it.[>:]  The Jeep dealer says if there isn t a connector the wires should be under the dash.  Is this correct, or do I need new glasses[8D]?  I felt like they both wanted to do this service for me and take more of my salary from me.  (That s my DW s job).  I d like to do it myself if possible, but if not, I ll go back to Charlies RV.

 Thanks

Catonsville CamperDid you get a pigtail in the glovebox? Mine had a note where the connector was (Dodge). Mine was straight ahead from your left knee, while sitting in the truck. It was sky blue in color. About an inch square. Hope this helps.

Catonsville CamperCongrats on the Liberty.  A nice vehicle. We considered one, but just needed a little more umph for our local mountain towing.

I imagine the blue wire you need is behind the kick panel to the left of your left foot. That s where Jeep generally puts it. There ll be a length of wire, but it will have a rubber band or other tie around it to keep it short. Might have to look.

I know on the Grand Cherokee (WJ), Jeep deleted the little connector/harness you re talking about for  03 as a cost savings. Don t know about your KJ. It s still available as an option, but frankly it s not that tough to wire it in directly without it.

Highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy. Had a cheaper model before, and there s no comparison. They do recommend running power all the way to the battery (or the main power box by the battery, in my case).

 Good luck.

Catonsville CamperThnaks Springer2.  You re right about the location of the blue wire.  I found it!  I had to borrow a electrician friends  toner/wire tracer to locate it though.  And it was in a white plastic junction box behind the left kick panel (no connector).  I then followed directions and wired it directly to the battery, the blue wire and the stoplight wire off the brake light swtch.  Today, I m going to hook up and see how it works.  Thanks for the help.[:)]
