Does anyone here have a Trailmanor? I know this is a crazy reason but there are times when we want to leave our dog in the camper but we are afraid that she is bound to bark at times and of course we don t want to disturb our neighbors. So we were thinking that something hardsided with insulation would keep sound in better plus we could run air conditioning to keep her comfortable and add white noise. She goes everywhere with us and we like it that way. But there are things we do while camping that you can t take your dog with. I like the idea of keeping the popup low profile while towing. Any info would be appreciated.

midwest_camperI own a Trailmanor but I don t have a dog. But I know a few Trailmanor owners who do. They do exactly what you describe. I know two owners who also draw the curtains so the dog don t get visual queues to bark.

The low profile of the TM is nice but you probably won t be able to see over the top of it like you probably can do with your Jayco. But your gas mileage towing the TM should be about the same as towing your Jayco.

We love our TM. We especially enjoy the added creature comforts it offers.

midwest_camperThanks..... I really appreciate the info...

midwest_camperI don t think that I could add any more than NE_Tmanor did...they are great trailers, and I would not have any problem taking a dog and doing as he said...you can also turn the radio on to sooth the pooch as well.  They are very well constructed and they weight no more or less than many tent trailers.  My biggest gain with my TrailManor is that I no longer have a problem with sway.

If you have any other questions, I am sure that one of us would be more than happy to answer them.

midwest_camperThanks to the folks at last year s eastern rally we were able to train our dogs to stay quietly in the pop-up. We still don t go away from the campground but now they are ok for a while. Here s what we learned: Before putting them in the camper wear them out - a tired dog will do better and will learn when they are in the camper alone it is time to sleep. Have a neighbor camper listen for them and know where you are if they start fussing. Leave them with a good bone that is better than anything they might hear going on outside. And of course, all of the good ideas already mentioned. Best of luck !

midwest_camperWe have a 2001 3026 TM and like it very much. We dont hear a lot of outside noise when we are in it (have  ventfans going most of the time) and expect that with a radio playing, your pets wouldnt be bothered greatly by people passing by.  Havent camped yet with our dog but dont think he d enjoy being left behind while we go out and  socialize with people and critters[;)]  Especially CRITTERS--Shadow tried to romp and make friends with a very young skunk last week and although he smelled a bit musty for about 3 days, we got him back to the house before Little  Mr Skunk really got upset and perfumed the whole area as well as the dog  [: (]
