I wanted to pose this question to those with double axle RV s, What is your prefered method of leveling yours?.  I know the bal leveler is very popular with single axles but it seems with double axle trailers you have to buy two of the blasted things.  Also there is the Lynx level system but unsure if you have to have two sets to place the same under each of the leveling side wheels.  Figured I d try and get all my questions out before we head out on our first maiden voyage.
 Also off topic:
We just tried everything out on the new camper but the blasted stove will only go the high position.  I cannot get it to turn to decrease the flame height, I have tried pushing it in & all sorts but not one of the three burners will reduce their flame and the knob seems it hits a hard stop, any ideas?

PopupSgtYou may or may not need more than one set of Lynx levelers.  It would depend on how off level the trailer is.  Most of the time I think one set would work, unless you are using them under the 4 stabilizing jacks.

Call your dealer on the stove.  That doesn t sound safe.  What brand is the stove?  You could see if they have a web page and a trouble shooting section.

PopupSgtHiya, Sarge- I doubt you could use a pair of BAL levelers on one side since the axles are so close together. The BAL is 20"  across, and given the small diameter of the 12"  tires on your trailer, the ends of two BAL s might not fit between them. But, measure the axle spacing and see it it could work. Others have mentioned needing a plywood " shim"  between the BAL and the tire to take up some slack caused by the smaller 12"  tires outside diameter. My pop-up tires are 14" , so I can t comment if this is true or not.

What procedure does your manual say to use? Level with both axles, or just one? I m betting you ll just need to carry a couple lengths of 2x6 to get both axles up off the ground level. Maybe a Lynx or two (or just plain old plywood) under one end of the 2x6. At that point, one BAL would make a great wheel chock so the trailer didn t roll off the 2x6 s.

You *might* be able to futz with the stove enough to fix it, but if you futzed it up, you re outta luck. Call the dealer and see if they ve heard about what you are describing. If they haven t heard of it and can t tell you how to cure the problem with a simple twist of a knob setting, tell them to fix it under warrenty, or you want a new stove. That way you won t have futzed yourself into a corner.[;)]

PopupSgtGood question, and with a newly aquired double axle hybrid, I wish I new the answer to that question. I have given it a lot of thought though, and the BAL leveler is not going to lift my trailer up, and I d need way too many of those plastic Lynx things. For now I m going back to using wood, though I ve got to aquire some longer pieces so that both tires will fit on it. I figure 3 pieces should be enough, one half inch thick piece, and two 2x6 s each about 3  long.

When someone comes up with a better way to do it, I ll be glad to try it. Right now I have a brand spankin new BAL leveler, never been used! I ve been on two trips since getting that BAL, but both times the site was level and I didn t need it, go figure!

PopupSgtMost of the developed CG s we ve been at I ve only needed about 1-2 layers of Lynx levelers.  With a set of 10 I ve had more than enough.  The 2x6 is a good idea as well, but with the 10 levelers I can get a couple under each wheel, and still have 6 for the kids to play with.  I also have one of the Lynx Chock & Blocks so it makes backing up and choking the wheel easy and everything but the C&B fits in a small bag.
