When we picked up the PU the dealer gave us the " walk through"  which included take down proceedures.  On the old one I always unzipped the 4 corner zippers and was surprized when he told me not to bother doing that.  As he brought it down he showed me how the corners stayed loose if left zipped up.  When I read the manual later, .....it clearly says to unzip the corners.

What do you do with those zippers??/ Has anyone ever had a problem leaving them zipped up?

jpreiser

camwe always unzip ours , seems to make it easier....

camI never zip mine up until after I install the door.  That way there is less tension on the canvas and makes it easier to attach tothe door frame.

camOn our old PU, we never unzipped, but since we bought used, we had no one to show us the ropes.

When we did the walk-thru, we were told to unzip as it makes it easier to get bunk ends flatter and not so much bulk on the side of the PU.

camIf I were you, I d follow the manual. The salesman (ya gotta luv  em) probably didn t read it, so being you did, you re probably one step ahead of him! [;)]
Most of the time, those guys are in a big hurry to get your $$$ - end of story....

BTW, congrats on the new PU - hope you have lots of fun w/it!

camHold-on a minute! We have a 2003 Flagstaff 206 ST and went through the orientation less than a month ago. There was no mention of " corner zippers"  and I find no mention of them in my owners manual. I just re-ran the video that came with our PU and there is no mention of zipppers on it either.

Can you describe corner zippers to me? Are they at corners when folded or unfolded? What do they hold up or hold together?

While I m at it... what is the function of the two vertical straps on the inside of the two main windows and screens? There is no mention of these in the manual and there was no mention during our walk-through.

Hey tell me more about the corner zippers.  [&:] I have a Jayco and nobody said anything to me about it. I have been camping three times and we never leave any zippers loose when tearing down or putting up.

angelsmom10

camCorner zippers are the zippers under the supports for the roof.

I know the manuals lack alot in instructing -- glad the board is around.

camThanks, I ll look tomorrow. I need to pop it up tomorrow.

Any idea what the two vertical straps on the interior of the windows are for?

I think those straps are there to keep the window from just "  flopping out"  into the PU when they are unzipped.
