Someone had some information on this park in the Saranac region of NY, but it must have been on the old forum as I can t find it. I have reservations for Labor Day weekend on Site 50 and would like to know what to expect! Thanks!

garym053Hi Gary, It s been awhile since I was on board here, I spend a lot less time here once lawn work begins.  Anyway, to answer your question, you have an on-lake site, and I have it listed as a " Good"  site. It s in the loop where there s less traffic, and you ll also be within walking distance to the shower building.  The toilet buildings and the water spigots are every twenty or so campsites.
Every day the wood and ice vendors come through the campground.  Plus, if you do forget any camping or food item, it s a Mom & Pop store on the main road just before you enter Fish Creek Campground.
I mention Fish Creek because, you ll need to drive through that campground to get back into Rollins Campground.  (As far as I m concerned, that is the only downside of Rollins!)  When you first pull into Fish Creek Campground, stay to the left of the check-in building, stop at the window, and tell them that you have reservations for Rollins.  They ll wave you on, then just turn right and keep going till you see the signs to turn back towards Rollins.
The area is REALLY great for the kayaks, too, Gary.  Most of the adjoining lakes are connected by streams, or a very short carry, (nothing over 1/2 mile).
John and I will be staying at site 62 that same weekend! We usually have the entire last week of August reserved for camping, but John ran out of vacation days early this year.  But, a long weekend will be great! and just another chance to check out the waters around there!
 Anyone else going that weekend?
Hope the info helped.  If I think of anything else, I ll get back to you.
