GeneFNothing like the smell of bacon in the great outdoors. Or is it human flesh cooking these days. [:)][:D] Maybe we ought to try some ham and eggs... [:)] We could even go to the local restaurant[:D]

GeneFThere is not burn ointment in first aid kits because you are only supposed to put cold water on burns.  I suppose you would have to keep dunking your head in the water.  You do not use the cool water just once but over and over again if it is not a body part you can dunk or shower with the cold water for quite a while. For an arm or hand you just keep the part in the cold water changing the water so it stays cool.  If you insist after several hours you can use the ointment.
I always precook several pounds of bacon and put it in a tightly sealed jar to take camping.  I finsih it at the campground.  When I forgot that I had some left over in the refrigerator I found that it will stay good for at least two weeks.
I have also found that if you put the hot bacon in a peantur butter jar it changes the shape of the jar before your eyes. Oops.

GeneFWow, Gene, I m sure glad that you re okay.   Maybe we should put bacon on a list of things to let our moms cook for us.  LOL   Has anyone ever noticed that some of the things we rational, intelligent, mature adults do seems to be really...well...dumb?  I too, have tried putting hot bacon grease into a plastic container, and it s amazing how fast the container becomes useless.   Do ya think that it s because we are from that genaeration that had those thick glass p-nut butter jars and we just can t get it thru our heads that they re plastic now?

GeneFGene I am glad you are OK.  Maybe it is a good thing to wear glasses.[&:]  I cook bacon when we camp, but I have been thinking of using the precooked stuff, HersheyGirl is pushing me that way.
