This weekend we were at Jamestown CG, Pymatuning PA.  We left on Friday morning to go to a few garage sales and just to see the area.  As we were out, a huge storm came through.  We could barely see while driving.  Luckily, it didn t last long - but a lot of trees were down.

We were heading back to the CG, we were going to stop and get some ice and wood - but DH says he wants to stop to check on the PU first...

Well, we pulled up and it looked like a tornado hit the PU!  The awning had apparently filled with water (we ve had problems with this before, no matter how much we angle it - it fills up) and I guess it got so full that it pulled the awning down, broke 3 of the poles and the main cross bar, and knocked over our grill.
We just stood there and stared at it, we were afraid that one of the poles had gone through the canvas.  (It didn t, thankfully).  All the neighbors started coming around saying they couldn t believe what happened, and how bad they felt.

Anyway, it wasn t as bad as it looked, we just need to get replacement poles, which we found out today only cost around $14.00 each.  We went to Walmart and bought another screen room and enjoyed the rest of our weekend.

I just thought I d share this with all of you...  Remember to always have a " good"  angle on your awning!!!

ZooeyWe were at Site #327, right across from the lake.  It s a great site.
This weekend was just way too hot.  We had 3 fans in the PU, but they didn t do much good.  At one point, it was 105 degrees in the PU!

ZooeyWe had an awning desaster this weekend also.  Staying near Des Moines Ia and thought storms were going to go north.  We were wrong.  Just when we opened the door to take down the add a room and awning they went flying by.  PU is at the dealer to be repaired.

ZooeyIt only takes one awning disaster to learn a good lesson.  Once, I forgot to drive in the anchors for the poles and returned after a little wind got up and it had thrown the awning, poles and tacky lights on top of the camper.  Duh!  Well, the neighbors helped us get it set back up.[8D]

ZooeyI had a self-induced awning disaster last year. (qualifies as a stupid popup trick)
I forgot to zip the awning bag when I took the camper down from cleaning it........ oops. As I pulled into the CG, the owner asked me what was dragging on the other side of my camper. Luckily it only unraveled til it hit the ground and it has about 6 holes as big as a pencil eraser or a little smaller.

 Zooeywow...that was lucky. chas
