Nacogdoches, Tex., city officials took a step closer on Wednesday (July 9) to approving a 50-acre RV rally park, according to KTRE-TV of Lufkin, Tex.
 
 All that Nacogdoches officials have yet to do is vote to approve the purchase of the site and approve final plans for the development, which is estimated to cost between $2 million and $2.5 million, according to the TV station.
 
 Urged on by executives from Nacogdoches-based highline diesel pusher manufacturer Foretravel Motorhomes Inc., city officials became convinced that a large RV rally park would be a revenue-generator for their community.
 
 Because there are so facilities around the country capable of accommodating large RV rallies, Foretravel executives convinced Nacogdoches officials that a facility there would find its niche.
 
 The proposed Nacogdoches rally park would be big enough to accommodate around 200 rigs and it would include a permanent visitors center.
 
 The Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau hopes to find a local contractor to draw-up plans for the proposed development, according to the TV station.

Only 200 sites and they are worried about not finding places that can accomodate large rallies? Hmmm, I guess all these commercial campgrounds that boast 300, 400, 600, 1,000 or more campsite s can t handle the heat huh? []
