I have tried to use parts of multiple quotes in a thread to answer or respond to them, but cannot figure out how it is done.  Can anyone help me with this?

I have tried to use parts of multiple quotes

 Is this what you mean...

Quotein a thread to answer or respond to them, but cannot figure out how it is done.

Where a single quote is broken into sections?

QuoteCan anyone help me with this?

Yes.  First, click the " Quote the original message"  button to quote the whole message.  Then enter [*/quote] where you want the first section of the quote to end.  (Without the asterisk - that s there so it shows you the sequence instead of starting another quote.) Now type your comments, and enter [*quote] (again without the asterisk) to re-start the quote.  Note that without the " /"  starts the quote, and including " /"  ends it.

On the other hand, if you mean nested quotes like this:

QuoteThis is a quote

QuoteThis is a quoted quote

Just clicking the " Quote the original meaasge"  should bring both quotes into your message.

On the other other hand, if you want to quote from more than one post, then for the second and additional quotes, you need to " copy & paste"  from the post, and enter the [*quote] and [*/quote] modifiers before and after each quote. (again...no asterisk - *).

 Is that clear as mud?

It s a good idea to click " Preview"  before posting so you can make sure you got it all right.  I often have to go back and fix them...[:@]

Austin (don t quote me on that...)

In the message you want to quote just click on the little icon of the paper with the plue arrrrow.  When the box opens click on " Quote the original thread"   This will add the entire original post to yours surrounded by " quote"  and " /quote"  (I left off the brackets or you wouldn t see it.

Now, you can use the begin quote and end quote markers around any text and it will show up as a quote.  you can " cut & paste"  any text and put it between the markers and it will show up as a quote.

{quote} Put the quoted items in here  {/quote}  (I replaced the [ with { and ] with }[&:])

It can seem confusing at times, just play around you will get the hang of it.
