JemJen24I read most anything. Might want to give Carl Hiassan a try. He is a Florida columnist that writes books. Ever seen " Strip Tease"  with Demi Moore and Burt Reynolds, one of his. Those who like fishing need to read " Double Whammy" .

JemJen24Jen, just hit your nearest half price books, and go wild.  I know what you mean about reading though, I love it, although the family complains.  Actually the 18 year old is the only one that complains, the others all know by now, that yes, I may be reading, but I know what you are doing, and I know what is going on with the television, so they know I m still there even if I am reading.  The 18 year old says he will be glad when the books are done and I come back to the family, little does he know I just finished a trilogy, and have been promised a trilogy of trilogies as soon as my friend can find them!

I like stories that span sets of books, but hate it when the wait between one book and the next is really long.  I got hooked on the Clan of the Cave Bear series when I was much younger, and the next to last book just came out, but wasn t as good as anticipated.  It took YEARS to write, and there is one more book, and lord only knows how long it will be before it is finished.

JemJen24Jen, the Left Behind series are good, as are all the books by CS Lewis.  But, if your just looking for pure entertainment/trash reading I ll grab some for ya the next time we re together!

JemJen24Starx...I may check those out.  already hit the local half price...that s what prompted me to post this. ha! [8D]

Kel ....grab away gal...I can use all the good reads I can get.  I went ahead and ordered the first book from in a series of the one s that Cathy Ann recommended.  Let s see if I agree with her choice. ha! [;)]

JemJen24BTW, Kel ...I emailed ya a few days ago....check your emails, gal! Let me know if you got it.  J. [:)]

JemJen24I know what you mean about loving to read.  I would be such a bookworm if I didn t have this herd of kids to keep an eye on.  Granted I can get some reading in, but you know how cute the youngest is, and it s hard to read with her sitting in your lap peeking at you over, below, around, etc the book, trying to get you to play.  [8D]  She gets completely hilarious, she makes faces at you, tries to engage you in a game of copying vocal sounds, sticks her little chubby hands over the pages, etc.  Anything she can come up with to get that book out from between you and her.  Course then once she has your attention, and has you completely distracted from the book, she plays all of about 30 seconds and then leaves, unless you pick up the book again, then she is right back up there starting the whole thing over.

CathyAnn

JemJen24[:D]Good choice Miss Jen!!  And I should have some of the books too, if you need a loaner.

P.S.  Kelly, by any chance are you a closet romance novel reader like I am?  Gotta have my  smut , lol!!!

JemJen24Campers and hikers alike should enjoy " A walk in the Woods"  by Bill Bryson it s about hiking the Appalachian Trail.

JemJen24I can give ya lots of recommendations on Appalachian Trail books! It facinates me (I m a member of the Potomac Appalachain Trail Club) and I ve read a bunch of books of people who ve actually hiked it.  One of my favorites is " Walking North"  by Mic Lowther about a family (Dad, Mom, and 10 yr old daughter) who hiked it together.  I love to read all sorts of books, depends on what I m interested in at the time. I d bet there hasn t been a time since I first learned how to read that I hadn t had at least one book in the works.   I started reading to my son when he was a newborn and he loved the soothing sound so much, if I wanted to read and he wanted to be held, all I had to do was read out loud whatever book I was reading.  LOL...He grew up to be quite a reader too!  [;)]
