angelsmom10Getting back to the original question at hand, yes, I know how to clog and do quite a bit of it every week.  I grew up on square dancing and clogging in central NC, moved on to the mountains of NC style, and learned a lot from " Happy Feet"  the clogger up in Newland, NC.  Perhaps the most fun I have had with clogging has been at the Old Fiddler s Convention in Galax, VA.  I love the old " flat foot"  style and recently went to the Pottery Heritage Day near Blowing Rock where there was mountain music and clogging throughout the day.  Of course, I had to get into the action.  Don t be shy....get out there and try it out.[:)][:)][:)]

angelsmom10I found the one I was thinking of and it s over

APPALACHIAN MT. SQUARE DANCE & CLOGGING FESTIVAL   (JUNE 21-22)

Natural Bridge State Park, Slade, Ky.

Although there should be another one coming to our area.  It has always been held over Thanksgiving weekend.  DD used to attend several years ago and hopes that her college schedule (football/band/colorguard is locally so she can attend).

If you decide to make the trip, let us know.  Even though we don t clog, we ll still come over to see you do your " thing"  -- how well do you " shine" ?[;)]

angelsmom10Thanks.  That s quite a long way from my home.  I have found many to go to around in the local areas where this form of dancing in not a lost art.  I don t know about how well I shine but one old guy keeps trying to keep me on the dance floor all night long.  I just do what I have been doing all my life after growing up in the rural areas of south central NC.  It isn t difficult and I do like seeing how others dance.  There s many different forms of clogging, depending on your region or part of the state.  Galax, VA is a good place to see it both on stage and off stage.  Check out their schedule at :   www.oldfiddlersconvention.com   for their upcoming event.

angelsmom10I just checked out the clogging page in NC from the link you provided and have bookmarked it for the future.  I didn t realize there were as many groups in NC dedicated to it.  Thanks again.
