 Just thot I would post this info about wild fires in Montana.  We got nine of them....most in U.S. and most acreage burned.  May want to reconsider Montana camping trips this year.  Looks to be a long hot one.  Weather is better today....not so darn hot and actually got a dozen or so drops of rain.
 
 Montana Number of Fires: 9 Acres: 166,639 New Fires: 0 Fires Contained: 1
 Number of WFU Fires: 1 WFU acres: 13,700
 NEW Ross Creek (Kootenai National Forest): 101 acres at 30 percent contained. This fire 20 miles southwest of Troy.
 
 Robert ( Flathead National Forest): 3,200 acres at zero percent contained. This fire eight miles north of Columbia Falls. Apgar Village and the park headquarters were evacuated of all but essential staff, which affected over 400 people. Structure protection is in place for 100 residences and 24 commercial properties.
 
 Black Frog Complex (Bitterroot National Forest): 4,000 acres at zero percent contained. The complex consists of the Blackwell and Frog Pond fires 34 miels south of Hamilton, Montana, and 32 miles north of Salmon, Idaho. Strucutre protection is in place for 75 residences and one commercial property. Evacuations ofrom Moose Meadows remain in place. Highway 93 from Sula to North Fork, Idaho, and highway 43 from Lost Trail Pass to the Big Hole Battlefield are closed to all, except fire traffic.

 Big Creek (Bitterroot National Forest): 1,251 acres at 35 percent contained. The fire is burning four miles northwest of Victor. Structure protection is in place for 80 residences.

 Long Mountain (Lewis and Clark National Forest): 160 acres at 90 percent containment. The fire is located two miles east of Neihart. This fire includes the Betsy, Higgins and Long Mountain fires.

 Missouri Breaks Complex (Miles City Field Office, Bureau of Land Management): 130,927 acres at 70 percent contained. The fires are located 35 miles northwest of Jordan. The complex consists of the Big Coulee, Ghost Coulee, Indian, and Germaine fires. Evacuations are still in effect, and 25 residences are threatened. One additional outbuilding was destroyed.

 Wedge Canyon (Flathead National Forest): 6,300 acres at five percent contained. The fire is 20 miles east of Eureka. Flame lengths of up to 300 feet were reported. North Fork from Whale Creek and across the Canadian border is still evacuated. There are about 100 residential and cabin structures affected by the evacuation and are being protected.

 Hidden Lake (Beaverhead/ Deerlodge National Forest): 3,000 acres at five percent contained. The fire is located four miles northeast of Polaris. Structure protection is in place for 11 residences.

 Trapper Creek (Glacier National Park): 13,700 acres at zero percent contained. This fire is 45 miles northeast of Kalispell and will be managed to benefit resources. Structure protection is in place for three threatened structures.

 DCI won t be moving to Montana anytime soon.[: (]  Seriously though, this sounds very bad.  I hope things are under control very soon.
