 birolJust so you know - having a puppy is just like having a new baby!!  So cute and adorable until he /she wakes you up 3 times a night howling and wimpering!  We didn t actually get our dog as a puppy, but she was about 9 months old we think.  We picked her up from the pound and she still had that puppy look in her face, but was a good enough girl to go " potty"  outside, etc.  I did not want to have to potty train a pup - even if they are cute and cuddley!!  The first dog we got was full grown, but used to being outside most of the time.  (There were a few things the old owners didn t tell us)  The first night we had her we let her sleep in our room - where she had access to the whole downstairs if she wanted.  That night she peed and pooped all over $1000/ worth of brand new carpeting.  [:@] [:@] [:@]  I never got the smell out ( and better yet - it was in the Dining room!) and I don t think I ever forgave her!  Now I know - get a crate! [:)]

If anything like that happened DW would butcher me alive .......Thanks for reminding me the unpleasant sides of owning a puppy. Will keep that in mind if we ever get a puppy.
