I kept looking at those plastic slinky things, and just couldn t bring myself to pay $30+ dollars for one of them. I had spotted an interesting set-up over at Dixie RV (Newport News) that used three white vinyl coated metal lengths that hung from the drain pipe, and was supported by the 90§ elbow piece, it retracted so the length was adjustable.

I kept looking at that, but at $39.99 I just couldn t see myself spending that on a sewer support. When I was at a friends house a couple of weeks ago, he had his gutters & downspouts off the front of the house and laying on the ground, he was re-hanging them. The gutter was a 4"  plastic (PVC or ABS) white stuff, formed in a near perfect " U"  shape. I took one close look at that piece of gutter, and told him this is exactly what I needed and asked where I could find this particular type. He didn t really know as it all came with the house, but he said there were several extra pieces in his garage, and I was welcome to take a couple of them.

I picked 2 pieces roughly about 7-8 feet long, and brought them home. They stack inside of each other perfectly, and I can slide them out to form a length up to 14   long. I picked up some plastic rivets (Nylatch) and drilled ¬"  holes on each side, measured at 12"  intervals, except one end I have a few holes a little closer together for some " fine adjustments"  and two mini-bungee cords to hold the supply end up by hanging it on the sewer/dump pipe, and the other hangs on the 90§ elbow.

Now I ll admit right here and now that is hasn t been tested under load yet, but utilizing empty drain hose, this works like a champ. I may have problems with the bungee s if the weight when full of water is too much, and then will have to use mini-chain s like the store bought piece!

 Total cost...
 4 Nylatch @ $0.69 per pair =  $1.38
 2 mini bungee s $0.99 pair =  $0.99
 Sub total                          =  $2.37
 Tax (4.5%)                       =  $0.11
 Total  Cost                        =  $2.48

Well worth the effort (providing it works as planned!!!!)

Gone-CampingGood plan Cliff, I too just couldn t justify spending the $30 on a slinky either.  Thanks for the idea!
