Hello everyone!  Yet another North Lake weekend!!  [:)]  We re on site 171 in Loop 6.  Hopefully someone will be able to join us!

 copcarguyHi copcarguy,
DH and I were thinking of trying to get to North South Lake this year, since we couldn t make the May trip. So, I went online to book a site, and noticed that road pavement and upgrading of the restrooms will be happening from Sept. till Oct. at that campground.   Are you still going to go there during this time?  We were hoping to camp at least once more this year, on Sept. 12th weekend.
Anyway, if we decide not to go to North South Lake, would you recommend another Catskill park?
 Thanks
 Sue [:)]

copcarguyHey SuZone!  Yes, we will be going no matter what.  North Lake is my favorite campground and site 171 is my favorite place well, ANYWHERE!  [8D][&:]  That " paving and bathroom"  warning has been on reserveamerica.com for almost two years now.  The last time I was up there (four weeks ago) the Ranger told me that being the state budget is not passed, everything is on hold.  To be 100% honest, even if they were paving, it would NOT stop me.  The place is SO nice that during the day if they were paving near my site, I would just go mountain biking or hiking.  They won t pave at night, and any night in the camper is a night well-rested!  Also, Loop 6 where I ll be had the bathhouse re-built last October so there won t be any noise in Loop 6 as far as bathhouse construction.  I hope this helped!!

PS - the only other place in that region I would go camping is Saugerties KOA.  I never spent the night there, but we drove through when we were up there picking up a police car I had bought.  It looked very nice.

copcarguyThanks for the info, looks like we ll be going to North South Lake![:)]

copcarguy

copcarguyGlad I could help SuZone!!  What dates are you planning to go there??

SuZone

copcarguyI booked reversations for the Sept.12th weekend, so we ll finally get a chance to check out North South Lake.  We probably did not get a great site, we re in loop 1, #5, it shows that it s a on-water site, but sometimes their idea of " on-water"  is different than ours.  Oh well, we re looking forward to camping at a new place.  We really enjoy kayaking and biking, so we should be able to do both for that weekend.[:)]
 Thanks again for the info!

copcarguySite 5 is not on the water but I think a little brook runs behind it.  If you want a great water site try site 150.
