My F-150 regular cab is getting a bit tired, so I need to upgrade. It s a good work truck, but I need newer and larger. I also plan to upgrade to a hybrid/lightweight TT in about 3-4 years, so the new truck needs to able to handle the load. Box size doesn t matter, gas preferably, 4 wheel drive.

So, my question is- if you own any of the following trucks, are there any problems or things you don t like about them?

 Ford F-250 x-cab
 Chev/GMC 2500 x-cab
 Dodge x-cab

Also, any recalls, etc. about them. Thanks.[8D]

Miller TymeI don t like doing what I m about to do, but here goes:

At trailerlife.com, there is a " Tow Vehicle"  Forum. I have been reading it, and doing some searches there, because they talk about the big boys like the 250 s and 2500 s.

I also want to give a shameless plug here (although I have no connections, except that I own a Nissan): Nissan has a full size pickup coming out later this year, with a tow rating of 9400#. Also, I have read in the business news that Nissan may have a 3/4 ton pickup by  04 or  05 model year. I will have to ask my Nissan engineer friends about this one. They told me about the full size PU from Nissan a couple of years ago.

So, if you are a Nissan fan (which I am), and you can stand to wait a few months longer, you can get a GREAT truck from a great company, with a large towing capacity. Look for the brand new Nissan Titan at your nearest dealer, coming soon.

 Miller TymeLarry,
What a great looking truck, I to am also partial to Nissan due to owning a 95 space cab that I beat the heck out of & won t die.  I ll bet the mfg will want a pretty penny for that ride.

Well, I went to the Nissan site and decked out a 4x4 nicely, and it came to a little over 41K. But that is sticker price, and I can also get friends/family discount through some friends (I hope). So I bet that can be dropped to 30K or so. I won t have to worry about it for at least a couple of years. Our current Nissan will be our current Nissan while Holly is in school. She also has an  01 Maxima that we love.

I just can t wait for the 3/4 ton trucks. I think Nissan already has their hand dipped in the diesels with their cube trucks, so they might even put a bigger V8 with an optional diesel (that s ME speculating, not anything I ve heard).

Me thinks you re dreaming... [:D]

Knocking 10 grand off a truck that lists for over 41 is just not going to happen, unless your family owns the dealership. [;)]

Miller TymeNot really into the Japanese trucks(no offense), mainly because I m 6ft4, and I need the legroom. Also, I need the full size box for the work tools(ladders, etc.).

About an hour ago, my buddy came over to show me his new 2003 Dodge 4dr 4x4 with the Hemi.[:o] He s a hard-core Mopar fan, and just had to brag it up. Well, it s a nice truck, but way out of my price range. With trade-in of a 94 Dodge pickup, and the dealer incentives, the new Hemi stickered out at $28k plus.[:o]

I must be in the wrong profession...[:@]
