AWESOME make at home dessert for pot lucks!

 1 stick butter
 1 cup brown sugar
 1 sleeve Saltines
 1 pkg milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (I use Pecans)

 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
 2. Line a cookie sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil.
 3. Place saltines in one layer over entire cookie sheet.  I think the sheet I use is 11x16 and I have maybe 4 saltines leftover after cutting one row to cover the entire sheet.
 4. Combine the butter and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
 5. Simmer on low heat for 3 minutes to caramelize.
 6. Pour/spread over saltines
 7. Bake saltines for 5 minutes so the caramel mixture melts into the crackers.
 8. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over entire tray
 9. Cover with another tray to melt chips (about 5-10 minutes)
 10. Spread chocolate evenly
 11. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and slightly press into chocolate to make them stick
 12. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to harden or in the freezer for 30-45 minutes
 13. Peel off foil and break into pieces.

Note:  I find that I like these with a little more of the caramel mixture so I add 2-3 extra tablespoons of butter and maybe another ¬ cup of brown sugar before melting and caramelizing.  I think this depends on the size of your cookie sheet though.
