MommaMia

Just wanted to pop in really quick and let you all know that the move went smoothly.  We have been here a week now.  Still lots of boxes to unpack but we can at least see an end in sight!

We love our new neighbor hood.  We went from being at the end of a dirt road, surrounded by state forest to a reall community area.  The kids made a bunch of friends the very first day here!  Yesterday I heard voices in Zoe s room and peeked in to find 7 girls hanging out in there!  (we only have 2 girls!) It s great the kids are fitting in so easily.

One other really nice thing is the former owners couldn t take thier hot tub that they just purchased in Nov!!!!  Boy does it make those aches and pains melt away!!

I ll write more when we settle in a bit more!

MommaMiaWelcome to sunny Florida and year round camping. Northern Florida is alot different than this area, the nice thing is you don t have to drive 5 hours to get out of the state. We ve camped at most of the state parks here and they are all great, Anastasia SP in St Augustine is one of our favorites and it s just a short ride from Jax. Let us know if you decide to head south on any camping trips.

MommaMiaOh Mia glad to hear your move is going so smoothly!! Too bad about the hottub though [;)]. I missed growing up in a neighborhood when I was kid, we always lived in the country. I am so glad my DD has neighborhood kids to play with now!

 MommaMiaCindy,

I hope you enjoy it there.  Jacksonville is on my short list of " final destination"  cities with work (or retirement).

It s a beautiful area with lots of camping close by.  [link=http://www.title-3.com/FWFacts.htm]Fort Wilderness[/link], which happens to be my favorite campground is a short drive away.

MommaMiaYou are SOOOO Lucky. I was in daytona last week (timeshare) and because my brother was in an orientation in Lakeland, we go together, had dinner and went " home" . We were raised in St. Pete, left when I was 17 and he was 15.  Downtown has changed a LOT, but the old neighborhood looks the same.

I e-mailed work and begged for a transfer...I work for the State of DE, they have no jobs in FLA, and they said that I was needed in the office, so telecommuting was not an option either...to only be 47 with only 13 years in...too young to retire and not enough service time...
