 thegraysLarry, not sure about the Tahoe, but if the cb/fuse at the batteries was hot, it s for certain you either got a very large draw or a short.
 Over the years I ve developed an attitude toward self preservation best summed up in"  In God we trust, But I;m still going to check his wiring"
 IMHO I d take it back to the dealer and take a multimeter to check their work. I always have a pocket sized on in the trailer.

 thegraysHere is the scoop on 2003 Tahoe (probably all 2003 Chevys) with a towing package.  The factory does not insert the fuse that allows power to flow to the Bargman connector at the rear bumper.  You need to install a 40Amp J-Case fuse (Napa # 7822122) on to Stud #1 in the fuse box in the engine compartment.  The fuse will run ~$5.00, the factory does not install this for safety reasons.
