The paper said this morning that over 400,000 acres have now burned in Montana and there is alot more to come.  Fires are not being contained. I haven t seen a blue sky in over three weeks.  Sometimes at night I can t see more than a few blocks.  You can see stuff drifting past the street light.  Hard to believe but we are wishing for snow.  The forcast for tonight is high winds and dry lightning storms.  Even the Universities are cancelling there scrimage games.  We ve had hotter temperatures than Phoenix and Dallas this year.

I love Montana(3rd generation, born and raised here) and would never leave......but this sucks.

I ve said it before and I will say it again.  If I had one choice where I could live where it s either 20 below zero or a hundred above....I ll take 20 below.  I have winter camped before.  Don t think the family would get into it tho!

DCWOW - that s a lot of burnt acres.  I didn t know anything about this -- about the main topic on our news around here has been " Are we prepared for a power outage like what happened in the NE?"

DCThe western Provinces of Canada are in the same boat, specifically British Columbia and Alberta.  The conditions are very grave, last night I saw a report where the fire may go underground through the Rockies burning uncontrolably for months.  In the same report, it was showing showing how much of an economical impact the fires are having on both sides of the border.  Between National Parks, camping/fishing resorts and outfitters, millions of $$ is being lost.  Mean while, our Eastern Provinces are water logged!  The ground is so wet, there may be no crops.  Too bad the East couldn t send some of it s moisture to the West.
