 Hello!

My family would like to take a trip to NH this fall to see some foliage.  We camp in NH constantly.  We just got back from a last minute trip to the Kancamagus Hwy.  We stayed at Covered Bridge Campground.  In my opinion you cannot beat the national forest campgrounds.  I don t mind doing without water and electric.  It s worth it.
Anyway, let me get back to my original subject.  We ll be going in October so I would like to stay in a campground with electric.  I m sure we would need the heat.  I wanted Moose Hillock but they close Sept. 14.

 Does anyone have any suggestions?

 Thanks for the help.

badonahueI ll get back to you with a couple of suggestions! I just want to double check the closing dates! There are a couple in Twin Mountain, NH, and a couple in the Ossipie, NH area taht are good, just can t remember when the close (Old Age set in when I turned 50 in July!)

badonahueYou might want to check out Branch Brook Campground in Campton, NH.

Haven t camped there in a couple of years but it use to be good.

It is located just below the tourist attraction area of the White Mountains and not that far from the Kankamangus.

You may find that a lot of NH campgrounds close on Columbus Day or shut their water off around then.

badonahueLost river campground, N. Woodstock is nice and I think still open.  Mereidith Woods and Tamworth are open year round.

badonahueHi! Here are some CG s that I ve either stayed in, Visited, or just driven through. I am not sure of their closing dates however as the book I have says that Moosehillock closes in Mid October and that is obviously wrong according to Moosehillock s web site! So here goes:
The Pastures CG, Orford, NH- Right on the Connecticut River about 1/2 hour North of Hanover, NH & Dartmouth College. A friend owns it and while it isn t the type of camping I d do regularly, it does fit the bill when electricity is required!
Broken Branch KOA, Campton, NH- seems clean, well run, near enough to the Kancamagus Highway, as well as Franconia Notch.
Twin Mountain KOA, North of Twin Mtn on Rte 115, probably one of the best run KOA s in New England! Near Mt Washington Cog Railway, great hiking in the area.
Lost River Valley Campground, pretty much at the Northen end of Rte 118 from Moose Hillock CG, Just West of Jct of Rte 112 & 118. People were nice enough in person when we were there, but heard they CAN be snippy on the telephone! Clean Campground.
Let me know if I can send you more info as I live in this area (Less than 20 miles from Moose Hillock!)and I m always game to check out new campgrounds!

badonahueWe stay at Jiger Johnson on the Kank every Columbus day weekend that we can make it.  It just like covered bridge but with hot showers to warm you up. It does get cold but that is what makes it fun.
