RE: Wonderful weekend camping

Well, we spent a wonderful weekend camping at [link=http://www.title-3.com/Trips/Pohick1.htm]Pohick Bay Regional Park[/link], just south of Washington DC.
 
 What a wonderful park and great weather.
 
 What surprised me was that about 1/3 of the sites were empty and they had sites available for next weekend (holiday weekend).
 
 Where are all the campers?  Are the current gas prices keeping folks from camping?

Tim it sounds like a nice park.  We couldn t camp last weekend, but we are camping the next 2 weekends.[]

Wow...wish I d known you were there!  We live just up the road from there and camp there quite often.  It s a terrific campground and I try to stear folks to that one instead of the parking lot of Cherry Hill when they are coming into the DC area.  I ve never seen it full and I love the fact that you can reserve your favorite site!

The weather was finally clear in NJ this past weekend. We didn t get to the trailer until 2pm on Saturday. Friday was a bust with 2 fatal accidents closing major routes & keeping me from getting home until 7, and I was stuck working on Sat until noon. It was, however, a beautiful Sat & Sun with cooler temps and a clear blue sky.

Tim, ever camped at Pt Lookout SP? We are thinking about it for Sep 18 for 3 or 4 nts. This weekend we are going to Little Bennett Regional for a quick(literally right around the corner) getaway.
