RE: TLHDOC.......Niagara Falls

 I don t know if you had posted about your trip but I was wondering what did you finally end up doing and did you all enjoy yourselves?

 I did post about the trip, but I will give you the quick version now.
 
 We headed up into the black out on August 14th.  I thought about canceling, but as long as I had enough gas to get back home I figured we should go ahead and camp.  I was a little worried about the cause of the power failure.  We had squatters on our campsite when we got there Thursday night.  We allowed them to stay Thursday and Friday (they couldn t get a site for Friday night the park was booked).   Friday morning the power was on at the campground so we headed for Niagara Falls.  We made the crossing and went to Luv s house and met her and her children.  They are all so nice.  Birol and 5gonefishing didn t make it in because of the power outages.  After visiting a couple of hours with Luv we went and did the tourist things.  The Maid of the Mist wasn t running.  The water level was too low because they were divirting more water to make electricity.  We used the people mover and did the behind the falls tour, the rapids walkway and the butterfly conservatory.  We all loved the butterflies.  We got back to camp Thursday night around 11:00pm and went to bed.  Saturday we scoped out the campground and went to see the park.  Kathybrj left a note for us and we went and visited them.  Sunday we had a nice drive home.
 
 It was a very nice trip, but we needed to spend more time in the park.  We are planning a group trip to Letchworth SP, NY August 2005.

Hi Tracy,
 
 I found your post......I was looking in the general forum. It seems like you had a great time......I would have been so leary of your " new found camping buddies" . It looks like you made the best of things......I admire that. Keep on camping[][][]

Roseann I gave that some thought and then figured that if they stole anything at least I had their car license plate to help track them down.  The campsite would have been empty all day on Friday and anyone could have stopped and hitched the PU up and taken it away.  At least with other people on the site it looked occupied.  I don t know if I would do it again, but it worked out well this time.
