When I lowered the galley after our last trip, the metal strip the covers the space between the under sink cupboard and the refrigerator bent and popped off.  It looks like it should slide freely (like a curtain rod) when you lower it but it won t now.  Does anyone know how this bit is supposed to be attached?  Does it fit over the metal catch on the floor or is it soldered on?  I figure we can force the two bits apart and add some WD40 to keep the bits moving but unsure how to re-attach it after doing that.
 Thanks, Susan

 slowpezHi Ray,

We have a 2001 Santa Fe, which also has the swing level galley. Our strip came off at the top. It looked like it was stuck on with some sort of adhesive. All we did was drill through and put a bolt and a nut to hold it in place. Its worked perfectly ever since.

 Hope this helps.

 slowpezHey, Sally [8D]
2 weeks ago the same thing happened to our 2001 Cheyenne, only the top came loose.  It looked pretty hard to get to both sides, so I used a pop rivot after getting the pieces together.  About a 5-minute fix.

slowpezI bent the piece on my 1999 Nevada (tried to set the galley up and didn t know a can was laying on the metal piece) a few years ago.  I bent it back into place, but it never worked right.  It was hard to slide and would stick so I bought a new one.  Mine was attached with double sided tape and then screwed into place.  The tape holds the metal flap in place so you can put the screws in place.  If yours is bent you might want to consider getting a new piece.
